So I went into FMWriters.com's chat last night and got a few hundred words, which was more than I've gotten in one sitting on The Book That Will Not Die for a while. It must have helped, because:
Progress Notes for August 29th
Lament for the Winds
Words today: 2190
Words total: 31826
Reason for stopping I figure I have everything set up for a nice big explosion tomorrow. *grin*
Tyop du jour: her drimson gown or Vakar wall knew
Darling du jour: I'm gonna cheat and use one from yesterday: For a few moments, he reminded himself, she did not hate you. She did not look at
you with fear, and she listened when you spoke. That is enough. And here's the sentence that made Athi love a minor character immediately: "Oh, shut it, Dalrein," said another boy. "You're not the Lord of All Things yet, and- shocking, I know- you may never be.
Mean things: Made Vakar and Kali attend a party where no one likes them.
A prayer: God, please be with everyone affected by Hurricane Katrina. Also help me figure out what I am supposed to do in Your service. But, y'know, worry about the hurricane first. I can wait.
An observation: Writing social events is hard.
