atheilenSo say...there was this Mary Sue used in an online RP. Designed to be a badass character's Stupid Love Interest. Goddess reborn, or something dumb like that. She's beautiful. She's powerful. She angsts like nobody's business. She loves someone who...well, uh. Let's not get into that. She shapeshifts into a dragon. Or a cat, that was never quite clear. She has a Cool Sword. She gets pregnant. Multiple times.
Her creator is also the most prolific writer in said RP, and she organizes everything, so the other characters, um, can't do much.
God.
Okay, I did have a purpose with Teillos. It was to create an Ascendant utterly unlike the others. That, um, worked. However, this is not necessarily a good thing. *cough*although I still think a person occupying this position makes sense in context*cough*
So I'm a bit older now. I like to think I've matured as a writer. I thought, for a challenge, maybe it would be fun to restructure this character outside the (fanfic) setting. See if she could conceivably work. I decided it was impossible.
And then my brain started giving me ways to do it.
Gah. I have another book to write, and the sequels. I don't need this.
Or maybe I do.
Okay. Finish current chapter of Lament first. Then worldbuilding notes. I need a credible hero (one who is actually compatible with Teillos, now probably to be caled Teilari and something else, something simple, Arla or Neri or something like that.) I need a good external conflict. I need a way to get rid of the heroine's husband, who should Rock, because I loathe Stupid, Disposable Husbands.
I'm using an icon that reminds me of the character. Thanks Ano!
Two chapters of Lament for every one of this, with worldbuilding notes for relaxation, and I should be good.
