Random blatherings
Jul. 9th, 2005 10:43 pmI'm not feeling sespecially eloquent or talkative, but I thought I should update anyway. So, a status report:
School: Done. Do I need to say more? It is weird not being a student.
Reading: Have finished lots of books. Of course, I picked up new ones at the con, so...
Theory: Have not studied it.
Thank-you letters: Have not finished them.
The New Car: Decent. I don't want to sell the Olds, though. Can't we get rid of the Taurus instead? *whine*
The Con: Awesome.
Highlights of the Con: Interesting panels. I was hardly bored at all. Authors being nice to me. My reading, where one person showed up. (I made them laugh, though!) Random person who said he wanted to remember my name, because judging by my comments on some panels, he expected novels. Free books. The party on the last night, where I was reminded why I love cider, and we figured out that Sean Connery's ass=42. (We also frightened Larry Niven. I don't remember if I personally spoke to him, but still...) Connie Willis talking in a panel about how much she hated Traumas In Childhood as the motivation for everything. The big dinner. The masquerade, with the performance of 'Once More, With Feeling.' Getting to know Amanda.
Can you tell I had fun?
Low point of the con: Burting into tears when my dad went into a tirade about how I eat too much. I blame con fatigue.
Exercise: I wanna go swimming.
London: I'm upset about the attack, of course, and I freaked out about a friend, until I remembered that said friend doesn't even live in London. *headdesk* But I'm mostly admiring of the reactions over there. It seems like people are getting on with life. I feel that the terrorists have already won in America, despite Shrubya's propaganda. They lost bigtime in Britain, if what I've read is any indication. I salute you, Londoners.
Writing: Finished Chapter of Suck yesterday. It came in at 3300 words. got it critted today, and the workshoppers don't seem to think it Sucks as much as I thought. Hmm. Maybe they're just being nice. I start Chapter of Cool tomorrow, although it will probably Suck too.
